Nordic Music Days: Jouissance
26/09/2015 @ 15:00 - 23:00Free
Jouissance is a musical extravaganza at Nordic Music Days 2015. For eight hours straight the audience can experience more than 40 concerts presenting some of the most interesting and innovative art music of today, written by Nordic composers and performed by world class ensembles and soloists. The programme includes modern chamber opera, electronic music, instrumental compositions, choir music, conceptual music, improvisation and much more.
Entrance to all concerts is free and the concerts will take place at three different venues: The Black Diamond, The Lapidarium of Kings and Dome of Visions.
In Dome of Visions you can experience Icelandic composer Anna Thorvaldsdottir’s work with large sonic structures performed by the appraised New York-based International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE). The Norwegian vocal ensemble Song Circus performs a piece by Ruben Sverre Gjertsen where electroacoustic sounds are conveyed via a large loudspeaker setup that creates a three-dimensional terrain. Last but not least Jouissance at Dome of Visions gives you a chance to experience the Swedish surrealist, improvisor, musical instrument inventor, composer, sound poet and performance artist Johannes Bergmark, who demonstrates that basically anything can be an instrument.
