KUNE: Weekend Reverie

03/10/2015 @ 16:00 - 04/10/2015 @ 03:00

The word Kune means ‘Together’ in Esperanto (the language invented by L.L. Zamenhof in 1887 that was supposed to serve as a way of uniting people around the world by transcending nationality and language barriers) and it stands for how it all started: a team of seemingly different people, culturally and ideologically, coming together, united around music, with the intention of creating a space for others to explore and experience, a space which would add value to people’s lives through its vision.

Our small music gatherings started with everyone from our core team bringing something of their own (not just physical elements such as speakers, turntables or decorations, but also their own creative input in terms of how the space should look and feel like) and merging it all into a potpourri of audio and visual stimuli that would enthrall everyone’s mind.

Ever since the first Kune event, we’ve put great emphasis on personal and heartfelt experiences in our pursuit for intimacy within the local music scene. Our approach eventually fused into the backbone that defines our identity, as we strive to convey our ideal in all of our events.

This time, we’re taking our bubble of ideas a step further, through our collaboration with Adrian Calin, a Romanian born artist whose imagination has mesmerized us from themoment we’ve laid eyes on his artworks. With his aid, we’ll transform the Dome into a temporary daydream, a reverie, in which we’ll entwine both sound and visual elements. Adrian will use paper, metal and jewelry in order to shape his thoughts on music, social connections and expressiveness, thus becoming a significant part of our event’s physical layout.

We’re extremely glad for having the opportunity to showcase our vision in a place that resonates entirely with our beliefs and we’re looking forward to giving you all a warm welcome!
